It's because, I can't get over of their Avocado Shake.. I'm now posting something from Orange Lantern. Seriously, I really don't know what was the name of the resto in Harbourfront Centre at first. I only knew from M that it was a Vietnamese resto. I was wondering why I could not find even a single signage (even from their menu book or maybe I was too focused on the food) of the resto name.

M said that their Avocado shake was soooo delicious. And due to my excitement in ordering and having my food served, I already forgot to know the name. :)

Well, the food tasted so good especially the Avocado shake which was to die for (and it's also because avocados are my favorite!). Vietnamese cuisine is like a fusion of Filipino and Thai cuisine in which both are my favorites, too!  We ordered chicken chop, seafood soup, spring roll platter and avocado.


Oh! By looking at my pictures, I only realized that the name is Orange Lanterns. Thanks to M who told me about the clue after five (5) days. :)

FINDING MY SECOND JOB (Singapore)

I'm gone in the blogsphere for a long time and I'm trying to catch up with everything that I've missed. Yes! I found my second job here in Singapore and my life is now becoming boring as to what it used to be. haha! Now, I have weekends and holidays and I can kill the time by just lying in my bed for the whole day. I'm only kidding. I'm into different activities now and I hope it will just keep goin'.

Okay! Let's go back to my topic on what I did in order to find my second job here in Singapore. Well, if you really want something you must do everything for it. My first job here was a tough one. I did not have time for myself and either a time for job hunting online. So, I had my resources worked for me. I asked my friend in the Philippines to apply for me online in return for some bonus for her. I received several calls for interview but I only selected those companies that I was interested. To make the story short, I was accepted. Yehey! Clap! Clap!

But as a foreigner here in Singapore, even if you were accepted by a company, it's not yet guaranteed that you're eligible to work here. Why? It's because your employment pass should be approved first by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). In other words, they have the last say in your employment.

So, the best plan was not to resign after I was accepted by my company. I was still with my first company when my second company processed my employment pass here in Singapore. It took only one (1) week of waiting, and my pass was approved. I resigned from my previous company and was ready to start a new.
 
For you guys out there. Always remember that everything is uncertain, you should have a plan B.

HELLO KITTY FAIR

Ooohhh.. My first post ever after eight months I guess. I've been very busy lately and have been hybernating for a long time. At last! I'm back again using Blogger Mobile.

Well, I was walking along Bugis Junction, Singapore when I passed by a Hello Kitty Fair. I believed that it was just temporary since I've been seeing different stuffs being sold in this place before. I am not a fan of Hello Kitty until one of my bosses gave me a Hello Kitty cellphone accessories from Japan. If I were a little girl again, I can ask my Nanay (Mom) to buy for me. It's always a great feeling to have these stuffs for free! whueee.

I don't really have a plan to buy so I only took some photos of it. Edited using Instagram and have it posted in my Blog using my Iphone. Check out where am I while writing this.

GUIMARAS (Philippines)

Becoming a tourist in my homeland made me think that I'm already a certified overseas foreign worker (OFW). I never imagined that visiting some of the tourist spots I had taken for granted before made me sooo happy.  

Instead of going to Boracay which is six (6) hours away from Iloilo, we decided to go to Guimaras Island. Guimaras is known for its sweet mangoes but i can't deny that mangoes from my town, Leon, Iloilo is even sweeter. :))  The Island of Guimaras is also known for its beaches. 

The island was so near to Iloilo City. We took a 30-minute-pumpboat ride going  to the port of Nueva Valencia Guimaras and from their we took the multi-cab to bring us to Raymen Beach Resort.

Island hopping is a MUST TRY in Guimaras. 

 

VISA EXTENSION - MALAYSIA EXIT (Singapore)

My online extension was about to expire on October 14, 2011. So, I needed to risk everything since I was already waiting for my interview result. I had my online extension and I had one (1) option left - to exit or what they say, the U-turn technique. The choice where to exit is still a question. I had been reading forums and it scared me on where to go but of course not to go back to Philippines. Finally, I decided to go to Malaysia.

"U-Turn - this is the common term for the technique to extend a social visit pass. It is by going to a nearby country to exit for a few hours or days and going back to the country of origin hereafter."

Some said that I have to stay there for a maximum of five (5) days and some said, hours stay was already enough. But then, If you think about it, everything was so uncertain. Everything was by luck because  the outcome will depend on the Immigration officers.

I only had limited bucks in my pocket, so I decided to exit to Malaysia.

What did I bring during my exit?

1) Passport 

2) Return Ticket - My exit date to Malaysia was October 10, 2010 and my return ticket was dated October 13, 2010. You should get a real one (though it cost a lot) because some officers might verify your tickets online.

3) Friend - My PR friend accompanied me during my exit to Malaysia. She's a permanent resident already who just came from a training in the United States. She celebrated her birthday the day after my exit so we got a lot of reasons to tell the immigration officers. 

4) Full-packed reason why you want to go Malaysia. We went there to celebrate my friend's birthday, to do shopping for stuffs and presents to my family in the Philippines.

It was 10-10-10 and was my lucky day. I survived all the questions of the immigration officers. It was a nerve wrecking experience but thank God, I passed it.
